My Wet n’ Wild Impressions

April 22, 2019

Drugstore makeup has improved surprisingly over the last few years. Although, it is a common thing to consider that only high-end brands can perform amazingly on the skin, many affordable brands have stepped up their game. Specifically, Wet n’ Wild is a brand that I’ve been using a lot during the previous year. The Photo Focus foundation and the concealer from the same range are two of my favorite products that create a perfect base and they don’t make me think of using them sparingly since they are very affordable. So, lately I’ve been testing out some of the new products that have come out and guess what? They are already in my makeup bag.

Photo Focus Stick Foundation & Mini Makeup Sponges

Well, if I want to be honest with you, I loved the super famous liquid foundation but many times the perfumed scent put me off. That is why some times I didn’t want to use it or I was trying to ignore the scent till I finish my base. The good news is that the new stick foundation is fragrance free. Of course, it still continues to be cruelty and gluten-free but feels very satisfying when a brand listens to its consumers and make us want to use their products even more.

The packaging is very convenient and travel-friendly without taking too much space on my makeup bag. The formula is semi-matte and leaves your skin with a healthy glow without making your complexion looking oily. The coverage is medium but buildable if you want to hide some imperfections. Although, even with just one layer the coverage is great and the stick glides effortlessly without sticking in any dry patches. I have combination skin with some spots here and there but after the application my skin looked even and fresh. It’s my first time trying out a stick foundation since I believed that stick foundations would look heavy and like a mask on me. I was wrong and I even got compliments on my glowy face whenever I wore it. Plus, it is less than 10 Euros. That’s a bargain.

Application-wise, most of the times I use my fingers just to make the foundation melt into the skin. For a change, I applied it with the mini sponge and I was thrilled. To my mind it looks like a half sized beauty blender. It is super bouncy but doesn’t absorb half of the product during application. The flat side helps with covering small areas like between your brows easily or under eyes concealing. You can achieve precise contouring as well. Comparing it with using a brush I would choose the sponge as the end result looks way more natural and radiant.

MegaLast Liquid Catsuit High-Shine Lipstick & Perfect Pout Gel Lip Liner

Inspired by the previous Mega Last Liquid Catsuit Matte Lipsticks range, they have come out with the MegaLast Catsuit High-Shine Lipstick. The packaging has become a bit brighter and the formula juicier and shinier. I have the one in shade “Caught you Bare-Naked” and as you can tell from the name is a nude shiny liquid lipstick. The color pigmentation is great, doesn’t feel sticky or drying. The range consists of 13 shades and are all infused with a bunch of different oils like macadamia, argan oil as well as Vitamin C. I found this formulation way better than the previous matte one but because the one I tried was on the super pale side, I paired it with the Gel Lip Liner in the shade “Bare to Comment”. This shade is more browny – peach and pairs exactly with my natural lip color. First I line my lips with this one for some base color and then I follow with the high-shine lipstick. These two make a great combo.

Those are the products I tried out the previous week. I was super happy that each and every one of them turned out to be amazing. Hope you get to try few of them and if you are based in Greece they are all available online here.
